Latest Success - Road Trailer Assembly
Whilst the Corona Virus continues to prove limiting, KPI continue to receive a number of new contracts.
With designers working from home, daily conference calls and limited production, due to social distancing, KPI are able to continue managing a number of large contracts.
One of the latest contract successes is for the assembly of road trailers for a multi-national company. Pre-Painted Trailer chassis, 13m – 15m long and weighing up to 7 tonnes are taken from road trailers to an offloading platform by electric winch.
An overhead crane with belt rotators, lifts and rotates the chassis and places them onto a floor bogey where they are transferred to the assembly area. The chassis are then loaded onto our overhead electrified monorail system and taken through 4 assembly stages at varying heights.
The main assembly line is supplied with axles and trolley legs by special tooling bogeys designed and manufactured by KPI. This is the second large trailer project for this customer, having successfully completed the previous contract on time and within budget.
With experience in the trailer industry KPI were able to Tender and Specify the project within a short lead time.
Having recently relocated to a new production facility and with contracts in the automotive industry and assisting large integrators with estimating and the supply of standard and specialized handling equipment, KPI are well placed for their next phase of expansion.
